Santa Fe Children’s Museum

Spent the afternoon at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum. Highly recommended if you have never been. Lily remembered it from our trip last year. Lots of things to do and so much fun. She loves the little blue door at the entrance that is just her size. She even was wondering this year if she might be too big to fit the door but it is still just right.

Lily and Koko...again

Lily and her Koko snoozed on the road to Santa Fe today. Only for about 10 minutes though. Had to wake Lily up to stroll thru Clines Corners. We all had a nice time touching everything in the store-haha. Then we made it into Santa Fe and got Koko’s competition piece checked in. Lily was a big help.

All these years of traveling I-40 and I have never eaten at the Big Texan! Can’t say that anymore. Had a nice huge dinner and got to see some pretty cool things. Lily liked the huge boot and the giant rocking chair. Plus she got a cowgirl hat with her grilled cheese dinner.

Hit the road today- earliest we have ever left before. Got Lily all set up with her DVD screen and an iPod loaded with her movies feeding into it. Plenty of snacks and drinks. She is such a good traveler. Only one meltdown at the McDonald’s on the turnpike today.

She looks frightened but I was assured that she is having fun at the library. This baby loves books. Also she wrote her name all by herself!! (Mama helped with the ‘Y’)

Nat S. "Sam" Marshall 63, of Talihina, Oklahoma passed away, Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Sam was born on September 19,1946 to Nat and Evelyn Marshall in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He attended the Talihina Public Schools. He had a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and was a social worker counseling alcoholics most of his career. He loved to travel and lived life to the fullest and enjoyed being with his family and friends. Sam collected Indian art among other things and he loved his flower garden and his dogs, "Scully" and "Sassy." He was a member of the Talihina Masonic Lodge #73.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Nat and Virginia LeFlore Marshall.

He is survived by his parents; Nat and Evelyn Marshall of Talihina, daughter; Natalie and E.C. Lawson of Wilburton, son; Jeff and Cherish Marshall also of Wilburton, grandchildren; Clayton Lawson, Emma Lawson, Kate Marshall and Nat Ryan Marshall, sister; Linda Holland of Talihina, long time companion; Deborah Jones-Saumty of the home, special friend; Clint Risner of Dallas, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A wake service will be held the night of Friday, March 19, 2010 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Talihina Senior Citizens Center, Talihina, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Talihina Senior Citizens Center in Talihina, Oklahoma with Billy S. Jones officiating and Carroll E. Jones providing the music. Internment will follow at the New Talihina Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.

Circus!!

Once again we loaded up and took Lily to the Akdar Shrine Circus at the Expo in Tulsa. Had a great time and this was probably the best show we have seen and we have been going for the past few years. Scroll on down to see some photos.

A couple of the highlights were the Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team and the grande finale Guinness World Record holder David “Cannonball” Smith Sr.!! Lily still talks about that guy that ‘boomed’ out of that cannon. Funnel cake and hot dogs and a quality time with the family is what this means every year.

Her Mimi and Papa got to come enjoy the show with her and her Brocka even rode an elephant with her!! Such a great weekend- hope you enjoy the pix!
